Saving money is a pretty hot topic right now, and there’s a good reason for that. I know I’m always trying new ways to save money. Saving money can be difficult at times, I know I’m trying my best at saving as much as I can right now. Saving money is an important factor in your everyday life, either your saving to buy your first house, pay off debt or just because you like seeing money adding up in your bank accounts. You have to have self control when it comes to saving your money, I know I do. But there are plenty of easy ways to start saving money without even feeling like your “forced” to do so. I put together a list of different ways I started saving money and their so easy to do.
Take public transportation– This may not be good for everyone especially if you have to drive a distant to work. But I used public transportation as a way to get around for a good 2 years and I saved a lot of money doing it. In most cities you can buy a monthly pass for a certain amount that’s usually a little cheaper than paying everyday. It also humbles you a lot.
Set a budget each month/week– Put $20 or $30 to the side each paycheck for whatever you need for that month/week. Of course you can put more to the side all depends on your needs. It helps to put a certain amount to the side because than your not tempted to spend anything extra. You can only carry around your certain amount and leave your debit/credit cards at home, or hide them somewhere in your wallet.
Shop at the thrift store– I love the thrift store! I always have. You can find some awesome stuff at your local thrift or resale store for a very good price. Once you start shopping you wont even feel like your trying to find to the cheapest price, because everything is cheap!
Cut the cable- I know this may not be an easy one for some people but if you cut your cable bill you can save up to $200 a month! Cable has gotten very expensive. Netflix and Hulu both have great shows and movies, and they both cost $10 or less a month.
Cut down on fast food– fast food is expensive and not healthy in anyway. Cooking meals at home can help you save money. You can cook enough to last you a couple days and its also a lot healthy for you and your family. Its also a great way to spend time with your family.
There’s tons of other ways for you to save money, you just have to find what works for you and your family. What does your family do to save money?
